| It was the foresight of John Chapman, the company’s founder, who realised back in the mid 80s that there was a lack of a high quality penetrating spray and effective, long-term lubricant that would meet the demands of his colleagues in a British motor racing team, as well as for his own transport vehicles’ servicing. He set about developing GT85 through trial and error with the assistance of an ex RAF chemist. Many different compositions were tried, rejecting silicon, for example because of its potential effect on car paint spraying. PTFE instead was included, as it satisfied the needs for a highly effective penetrating and freeing agent. As well as being a non-oily lubricant which like other more general products tend to drip and dry off. The final formula was deemed a success and the rest is history! From the harsh and demanding race and transport engineering environment the GT85 brand has grown to be the product of choice for industrial, mechanical, sporting and home users everywhere in the UK and across the world. With the passage of time the company has grown, but has not outgrown its attitude to customer care and approach to business. Soon after the launch of GT85, supplies were being snapped up by MOD workshops.The aircraft and helicopter industry was soon to follow as word rapidly spread about the new cleaning and lubricant spray with outstanding properties, which could benefit all types of machinery or equipment without leaving a sticky residue. It was not long before the car, motor racing and cycling fraternities latched on to the usefulness of this new product which cleaned, protected and lubricated. GT85 is now the spray of choice for professional and amateurs alike, at home and overseas.
